Bloom with the Moon - Summer Solstice
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Kira from Oshun Yoga and Catherine from Dare to Change Therapies for an evening of Qi gong, forest bathing, sound healing and celebration of the Summer Solstice.
The Summer Solstice occurs when the Earth’s axis is at its most titled point towards the sun, therefore creating the longest day and the shortest night. The event is celebrated by many different cultures around the world, some burning bonfires to ward off evil spirits and to boost the sun’s energy to guarantee a good harvest, with singing and maypole dancing. Whilst we won’t have a bonfire or maypole dancing, we will encourage everyone to get into the spirit in any way they can, by either wearing flowers or flower crowns, or even bringing flowers or fresh herbs with you.
This experience will be a fusion of Qi gong, guided forest bathing and sound healing; taking place in the twilight at Edwardes Lake Park in Reservoir. You will be guided by the expertise of your facilitators, with the opportunity to connect with others as we let go of the difficulties of 2020 and begin setting intentions for 2021. This very special event takes place on the eve of Summer Solstice so we will harness its energy and welcome in the change of season together.
