Sound Medicine Hike - Plenty Gorge 8km
Time & Location
About the Event
Join a group of like-minded souls to spend a morning exploring the incredible healing benefits of forest bathing, the Japanese practice of 'Shinrin-Yoku', which helps to calm and reduce stress. At times we will slow down to forest bathe along the track and then during our hike, we will stop to receive a 30 minute sound bath. Sound Healing is an ancient shamanic practice of sound immersion and meditation, as the vibrations help to calm, heal and rejuvenate the soul.
Location: Plenty Gorge Parklands - meet at the carpark on Goldsworthy Lane (a google maps reference will be emailed out the day before)
Time: 9am and finish at approximately 12pm
It will be an intimate group of 9 so bookings are essential.
You will need:
- either hiking shoes or trainers/sneakers with some grip
- a moderate level of fitness, as this track is 8km with some hills and a sometimes narrow and uneven track
This event will include guided forest bathing, an 8km hike, guided nature meditations and a sound healing amoungst the trees.
Please be mindful that as we will be in a forest, toilet facilities will be very limited or not available.
Please be respectful of the current social distancing requirements for COVID-19. The small group size ensures these requirements can be met.
In the event of bad weather: Melbourne weather can be unpredictable, so whilst every effort goes into choosing a day without rain or as little rain as possible, this cannot be controlled. A decision will be made by 5pm the day before the event as to whether it will go ahead and each participant will be contacted to offer either a postponement or refund so please ensure to provide your contact details. Please note that all refunds are at the discretion of the organiser.
